My interesting flight simulation has led me to develop some projects.
Digitrak Autopilot
The Digitrak is an autopilot system for experimental aircraft, manufactured by the TruTrak company, which is fully digital, employs a self-contained digital three axis gyroscope that is automatically corrected for drift and synchronized with the earth's magnetic field by an internal compass (magnetometer). The Digitrak can hold a GPS track or fly a GPS flight plan and should the GPS signal fail, it can hold a magnetic heading. It only requires a GPS ground track and ground speed input to function. Fascinated by this unique device, I created a model for it to use in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002. Now, I am creating a version for FlightGear simulator.
Cape May Lighthouse
Having lived on the Delaware coast, the Cape May lighthouse was a familiar sight on a clear day. Wanting to use this landmark in my VFR flying, I created a model for use in MSFS2002.
