"Marg[aret] Mangold"

Margaret Mangold is the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Mangold, brother of J. G. Mangold, and Piety (Cox) Mangold. She is about age seven. This portrait is probably from J. G. Mangold's DuQuion studio.

Margaret is wearing another "low body" dress like her cousin Kitty Fuller was, but with a fitted "corsage" and straight sleeves. This style implies a bit more extravagance than the former dress. There is little room for growth in this style as there was in the first dress. The hat is most likely a studio prop, but the high flat crown clearly fits the mid-decade date for the photo.
